How it works

  1. 1

    Get a Pill Pal box

A small 3D-printed pill box with an NFC tag tucked inside the lid.

  2. 2

    Tap your phone on it

The phone opens Pill Pal automatically — no app store needed.

  3. 3

    Add your medications

Type them in, or snap a photo of the pharmacy label and Pill Pal fills in the details for you.

  4. 4

    Tap. See. Take.

Every scan shows what's due now, in big friendly letters. One tap marks it taken.

What Pill Pal does

Big-letter today view

A clear list of what's due now, what's overdue, what's coming later, and what's already taken.

Scan the prescription label

Point your camera at the pharmacy label. The medication name, strength, dose and schedule fill in for you.

Tap to hear the name

A small speaker icon on every medication. Tap it and your phone reads the name aloud — useful when the letters are small.

History and adherence

See the last 7 days, your on-time percentage, which doses were missed.

Pill-stock reminders

Tell Pill Pal how many tablets are in the bottle and it warns you when you're running low — so you reorder in time.

What's this for?

Add a one-line purpose per medication, with a tap-through to the official NHS Medicines page for more detail.

For families

Worry less about Mum

Add the phone numbers of family members who help look after you. They'll get a quiet text whenever it matters — never spam.

  • End-of-day check-in. If anything's still untaken at 9pm, the carer gets a single summary text.
  • Gentle "don't forget" nudge. If a dose is 30 minutes overdue, a quick reminder text — to you, and to your carer as a copy.
  • Quiet life-check. If you haven't marked any medication taken for 18 hours, your carer gets a heads-up so they can ring you.

You decide who gets the messages and what they're told. Turn each one on or off whenever you want.

Built for trust

Not a medical device

Pill Pal helps you remember the medications you've already been prescribed. It doesn't give medical advice or replace your pharmacist.

Your data, your control

We store the minimum we need to remind you, never sell anything, and let you delete it all whenever you like. UK GDPR throughout.

The chip is dumb

The NFC tag in your pill box only carries a web address. No personal information, no medication data — just a link. Your information lives in your secure account, not on the box.
